About us

The Midland Institute of Mining Engineers celebrates its 150th year in 2007 with a current membership of 995 members in the UK and overseas.

The Institute has a Council of some 15+ members who willingly give some of their time to pursue our aims and objectives on behalf of the membership. The MIME Council have planned a full and diverse programme of technical meetings to be held throughout the period of October 2007 to June 2008.  Our AGM follows the traditional midsummer break prior to the first General Meeting of the season in October.

Our technical meetings continue to be interspersed with occasions of a more social nature and opportunities for networking, such as the Annual Banquet and Ball in May and the Annual Dinner held in March.

Current details of events, times, dates and venues can be found on the MEETINGS page and all members will be advised in advance of the meetings.
